 if you can see this, your browser doesn't understand iframes. please update your browser. if you can see this, your browser doesn't understand iframes. please update your browser. the (ytaa) is a long established angling club with records dating back some hundred years or so. the club operates over five becks and two still waters in north yorkshire. primarily a trout fishing association with the emphasis on fly fishing although coarse fishing and bait fishing are also available. the association offers year round sport with grayling and pike fishing in the winter months. the two main fisheries are; the isle beck system in n. yorkshire, where much of the fishing rights are owned by ytaa and still waters at stearsby at the foot of the beautiful hambleton hills. isle beck offers fine wild trout sport, a mayfly hatch and a good head of naturally recruited wild fish. stearsby is a lovely little secluded fishery offering quality still water fly fishing for rainbow trout. wild trout fishing is also available on the river dove at kirkbymoorside, the river riccal at harome and on cod beck at dalton. news membership we do not have vacancies at present. unfortunately, due the length of the current waiting list we are unable to accept any more applications this year. if you are already on the waiting list then please be sure to inform the club secretary if you change your email address. club secretary: rob sawdon: [email protected] stearsby boats the boats have been fully restored and are now back on the fishery for use on the top lake. once again we are hugely in debt to sam seago who with specialist fibre glass help from graham elphee has renewed them to as new condition. they have done a first class job here and all members will be very grateful when employing these boats to seek those "just out of reach fish". more details in the stearsby notes section. isle beck lamprey 19/04/18 - wayne laverack: "spent a couple of hours at the beck on thursday and had my first ever sighting of lamprey, i even managed 30 seconds of filming them with my phone. the male was clearly creating a redd, selecting just the right stones before picking them up and placing them. they were about halfway between arden bridge and the a19 bridge, i watched them for several minutes before moving on." the video is now on our youtube channel. watch here. this is good news for the beck as the presence of lamprey is an indicator of high quality water. 25/04/18 -
